Local Government
Mojave is an unincorporated community in
Kern County, which is governed by a five-person Board of Supervisors.
Supervisor Don
Maben represents the Mojave area, which is in Supervisorial District Two.
Mojave's high school, middle school and elementary school are in the Mojave Unified School District. Sewer and water services are provided by the
Mojave Public Utility District, and the Mojave Airport, Civilian Flight Test Center and industrial park is managed by the East Kern Airport District.
Mojave has a Town Council, a volunteer organization that works with other organizations, citizens, and local, state and federal government for the
benefit of the community, and to encourage economic development.
Mojave also has a Chamber of Commerce which sponsors the annual Gold Rush Days in September and other efforts to promote the community,
including this web page.
Mojave civic leaders actively participate in the East Kern Alliance, an organization of city government, chambers of commerce and town council
leaders working for the interests of the East Kern region.
